Caskets at Costco

I know that this movie was set in a Costco, and until I saw it in the movie I forgot that the Costcos in the US have caskets. (I live in Canada, and saw that on the website).

Does anyone know of anyone who did get a casket at Costco?

are you actually serious or trying to be funny?

I thought it was only appropriate to use "coffin" when you're referring to a mummy or vampire or something like that. Until I was about 10, no one referred to a casket as a "coffin." Can anyone think of the word I may be thinking of (the one I used before I was 10, and it wasn't "casket")?

Umm...you don't think "Super Club" is a parody on Sam's Club? Especially with the blue vests and everything...

On the US Costco website they advertise they caskets for sale and urns as well.

"Super Club" may be a parody of Sam's Club, or maybe Costco. Here where I live (and I believe the rest of the West Coast) we don't have Sam's Club, so to me it totally seemed like Costco. And the movie was made in and probably written by someone from LA, so Costco would be what they know about...

But still, where'd the lighter fluid come from?

I say it is definitly Costco, you see "Kirkland Signature" which is a costco brand and they say thanks to Costco in the ending credits.

reply

Yes, it's Costco, but I've never been to Sam's Club. This movie had every single thing I've always wanted to do at Costco.

yeah obviously Sams Club doesn't sell KIRKLAND items or have those distinctive signs, and distinctive shelving.

reply

I guarantee it's a Costco. I used to work and one, and within the first five minutes of the movie, I knew it was a Costco.

Someone already mentioned the Kirkland Signature thing (which I didn't notice), but there's also everything from the shelving they use to the way they layout the store to the signs above the food court area to the little signs over the items that show the price. And etc and etc.

Unfortunately, there's no lounge like the cashier's lounge. And my store, at least, was not even remotely enjoyable to work at.

I was totally thrown by this, are there reallybulk warehouses like Costcos and Sam's that sell caskets, because that was the first time I had ever seen that.

reply

I don't think I've seen caskets actually AT the Costco's or Sam's Clubs...

I haven't seen any 'Piece 'O' Sh1* Honda's' on the racks either.

They sell caskets at Costco in the entrance, but you order them. You cant just put them in your cart and take em home which would be nice. It's a pretty good deal beacause mortuaries rip you off and charge you double the retail price.
