Memphis Dept. the best?

best?

It seems to me that the Memphis homicide dept is stacked with the most talent. I think there are great detectives with other cities too and not many cities are profiled on the show, but Memphis is deep.

They really shine at the interrogation stage: one common trait at Memphis is their compassion, even while dealing with a murderer. They are either tough or tender at just the right time and they seem to get more confessions. They also speak fluent Street! A big plus for sure.

In a perfect world they should be studied by other units.... but maybe it can't be taught. I'm impressed.

It seems like a lot of people thought that, but I don't share that opinion: I thought a lot of tier interrogations came off a bit too close to violating the suspects rights. I always wondered how much gets thrown out in court after that.

I think the producers pick the best set of detectives. I think Memphis has great detectives. And they are sympathetic to everyone - until they get the killer. Then no more sympathy for the killer, but they do show sympathy for the victims, the victim's families and the perpetrator's families. That's what sets the Memphis teams apart.

Glad it's not just me. The Memphis detectives are definitely the best. I think the majority of them come from those poor neighborhoods and grew up with criminals so they definitely have the street smarts to deal with them.

Memphis is really good, and Caroline Mason is always entertaining. The Lester Street case was really impressive.
I also like Cleveland and their crusty old veteran detectives.
