In the episode shown on 4/30/15. It involved a young man who was killed while he was driving with gf to a gas station to get ciggarettes. It was mistaken identity , thinking he was part of a rival gang. The found video footage from the gas station showing the incident. However when the video shows the men actually shooting , they show the detective watching the video.

Normally they will show the videos..this time they avoided it.

Just curious why.. maybe the PD did not want it shown...?

Right , def makes sense about the waivers...Yes I have seen how certain people faces are blurred out. I know for a fact ... if its a juvenile (on 48) automatically wont' show the suspect face ( or a CI) or has requested not for it to be shown. But then that raises a good question.

97.3% of the time we see the perps face... and I am thinking.. Do they have to sign a waiver for A&E to show their faces ? I would think a lot of the them.. would be like No, you can't show my face, they are off to jail so what could they gain by cooperating with A&E?

Also do the PD get paid to allow A&E to film there precincts ?

I see... it makes sense...there have been times I've been watching an episode and thought..."is that dude who is snitching on his friend, is he cool with having his face shown on TV> He must not know.. anyways.. Its still a awesome show, one of a kind... and it's not scripted which is rare to find on television. It depicts real life! fair, not fair.. ugly side of humans..most of the time I walk away thinking " My life aint that bad, look at what these people have had to deal with"

Since they are the suspect, they are charged with the crime which makes it public information. My assumption is since it is public information & you can find them with an easy search on the internet, a waiver isn't necessary like it would be for a witness, informant, victim's family, etc.
