I didn't read all the way back of comments on this flick, but did anyone notice the excessive amounts of shoes? She's taking her shoes off, changing her shoes every time she enters or exits her room/apartment. Flip-flops to heels. Heels to flipflops. Running away barefoot carrying her shoes. Tennis shoes. Taking her shoes off at her meeting with her PO.
I was wondering if anyone else picked up on that and if you think it has meaning?
I noticed there were a lot of shots of shoes, not just hers. Haha.

I totally picked up on it, the camera zoomed down to her changing her shoes to flip flops, couldn't miss it, and the other scenes you mention. I have no idea what it meant, but it was very purposeful in the film.
shareWell, imho...she'd just gotten out of prison. A) she didn't appear to have many possessions. B) it looked like the heels were her 'nice' shoes, how to be seen by others, and the flip flops were her 'casual' shoes. She def. took pride in the 'heels' :) C) isn't there something @ the shuffling around prisoners in jail w/ the taking off /putting on shoes? Maybe to make sure they aren't hiding anything?? (and like how she'd come to obsessively leaving them lined up by a doorway...).

You are not allowed to walk around in bare feet in prison. It's depicted to show that when inmates are released, they still carry some of the rules with them on the outside. Like a security blanket.

i only saw three pairs, the flip flops, tennis shoes and the black heels. I think she somehow thought the high heels were sexy or nice shoes to her, She obviously did not have a lot.
