this movie sucks ass

i didn't get it, was this supposed to be a comedy/horror or a full on horror? because it failed at both. if it was a spoof, it wasn't funny, just stupid. if it was a full on horror, it was too lame. it was just so stupid. they're running away from the guy, then stop and start having a conversation when 2 seconds earlier their friend just got ripped in half. i just don't get it. even if it's not meant to be taken serious, it's just too stupid to be funny. after he gets burned he's just laying on the ground. just go over to him and *beep* finish him off, they just run away and start having a conversation. and i loved when he just appeared out of no where when they were talking, he just popped up like "hey whats up" how *beep* stupid. *beep* this movie. i was watching Joy Ride and that's a great example of suspense/terror, which this movie had none of. that's why i hate these stupid slasher movies. they're either too lame and stupid or too dark, brutal and boring. i was watching that lame texas chainsaw sequal (the remake sequal) the new beginning or whatever its called, it was so boring and so dark and depressing. i got no entertainment out of it whatsoever, it was just boring and made me depressed after watching it. slasher films need to have terror and suspense, scenes that make you hold on to your chair so you don't fall off. these new teen movies suck, and so do you for reading this long post.

Not sure why I'm bothering with this...but anyway:

Yes, Hatchet is clearly a comedy-horror--as evidenced by the numerous jokes and completely over-the-top gory killings. The director is a die hard slasher fan, so it's easy to see why the characters acted the way they did.

I'm sure you've seen your share of slashers--they're filled with excessive nudity, ample violence, and most of all--characters making bad decisions. Hatchet follows the slasher formula pretty rigidly, so I'm not sure why you despised this so much. If the comedy aspect upset you, then okay. If you're not really a fan of slashers, then you probably should've skipped this one altogether.

HEY TROPICAL MARSH THANKS FOR STATING THE OBVIOUS, WHICH IS EXACTLY WHAT THE FILM IS ! OBVIOUS! THE ONE THING IM NOT SURE ABOUT IS IF THIS GOT A THEATRICAL RELEASE IN THE STATES. IN THE UK THIS DVD WENT STRAIGHT TO DVD, THEN STRAIGHT TO THE BARGAIN BIN AND THEN FOR MOST VIEWERS STRAIGHT IN THE BIN.

Wow you're hilarious, you should do stand-up. Whats with all the capitals? It doesn't make what you say any more relevant

Exactly. Boo.

It is what it is. And I thought it was great, and hilarious to boot.

" they're running away from the guy, then stop and start having a conversation when 2 seconds earlier their friend just got ripped in half. "

yeah, cause that never happens in slasher films, that was sarcasm by the way

"after he gets burned he's just laying on the ground. just go over to him and *beep* finish him off, they just run away and start having a conversation. and i loved when he just appeared out of no where when they were talking, he just popped up like "hey whats up" how *beep* stupid. "

yeah that kinda reminds of friday the 13th when jason is simply walking and his victims are running but somehow he catches them, i always laugh at films who do that, Hatchet was obviously being silly, more serious horror fim have done worse

first off youre compairing a slasher film to a supense thriller, great comparison secondly, you feeling depressed after watching TCM 2 isnt a bad thing (though i didnt like the movie either), in fact its the *beep* point, what did you expect a live happily ever after type of ending, horror films depict death, torture or at least imply them and you expect to feel good afterwards? but hell i had a good time laughing at the sillyness of the film, which was the point of it, although i expected more from this film.
