The humor was LAAAAAAAAME

I'll start off by saying I'm a huge horror fan and I pretty much like watching this movie. It at least shows enough potential and makes some cool choices in terms of where the story goes. The gore is obviously amazing.

The comedy side of things however is terrible. Utterly stupid and atrocious. The snappy dialogue from the token black guy - "Jackie Tucker?" Come on! - was very unsnappy. Having Ben try to quip a come-back at said token black guy, but then pausing and saying, "I got nothing." That's just lazy. That's what it was. All the jokes were lazy, too easy, and Green seemed way too proud of them. I hope this is less distracting in the sequel, even though I'm sure he ratchets up the silliness, because that's just what people do in genre sequels, they exploit the exploitable elements disgustingly.

I mean - the guy calls him Jackie Tucker, and then has to explain what he meant by it! How *beep* stupid is Green to think that it's ok to have a character explaining a joke?

The attempts at humor were embarrassing. The only good thing about the film was the gore.

Yeah, the humor was bad. It seemed to be intentionally bad which is even worse because when the joke is meant to fail and be funny but isn't its failing on two levels. Lame perfectly sums it up.

I know the defense, its how old school slasher films did it that's why it works. But it doesn't because old school slashers did it with a straight face, so it worked. When you're winking at the camera while doing it, it seems sad.

The "Comedy" in this film was the definitely the worst part of it.

To each their own. While I did too find the "I got nothing" joke a little lame, it was realistic to life. Not every one always has the snappy comeback in real life...and idk, I found it endearing.

The rest of the humour in the film worked for me too. Especially the NYU line, which had me rolling on the floor.

To clarify, I meant the line where Joleigh finally admits she didn't go to NYU.

I thought the humor was priceless. Loved it!
