Aside from being a clear throwback to the 80's slashers, I just thought the film was expertly paced and very entertaining. Victor Crowley was a crazy villain and his kills were so over-the-top and gruesome/hilarious; the film had no problems balancing the horror with the comedy. It's obvious you're not supposed to take "Hatchet" seriously and with that in mind it's just dumb fun.

I completely agree. The only thing that ruined it for me was the sound track. Too upbeat and poppy. This is a great popcorn film. Not to be taken too seriously, fun to watch and ridiculously over the top like good slashers from the past.

this movie was hilarious, the comedy balanced the gore (the kills are brutal) I thought it was more funny than anything, Victor Crowley was scary as sh*t! and he had absolutely no feelings, he just wanted to kill! super scary and funny, highly recommend this, just don't take it seriously!
