How is the ending bad?
The reason for that ending was to set up the events for the sequel. The sequel immediately takes place right after that "bad" ending. It would be bad if there wasn't a sequel.

Too bad this film was never interesting enough for me to even consider checking out the sequel (and third one, jesus!)
This film wants to be a slasher film, a comedy and a parody on horror movies and pretty much fails at each of those things.
I'm surprised they managed to get Robert Englund and Richard Riehle to join the cast.
The ending is stupid because thats not how you properly end a movie, sequel planned or not. There's other movies that have ended abruptly, but this movie gave me a feeling their camera ran out of batteries or something.

It ended rather abruptly. It seemed like there was going to be a huge battle between Marybeth and Victor, but then it just ended out of nowhere. Other than that, the movie was pretty good.
I've been waiting for you, Ben.
There's some great fight scenes between Marybeth and Victor in the sequels. Sure, Marybeth's face suddenly changes in part 2, and her height goes from 5'6" to 4'11" , but her fight scenes with Victor, in parts 2 & 3, were very bad-ass.
James Bond:Forgive my curiosity, but what is that?share
Magda:That's my little octopussy.
