So Madea is Helen's Grandmother but her mom is Madea's sister.

Can somebody please tell me how Helen's mom is Madea's sister if she suppose to be Helen's Grandmother?

I don't think Madea was actually her biological grandmother. I think Madea was married to Myrtle's father at some point (obviously with a huge age gap) making her a step-grandparent. Joe says at some point "that's your dead husband's family" referring to Helen. Hope that helps!

Whatever happened to predictability? The milk man? The paper boy? Evening tv?

There are plenty of instances where unrelated family friends are referred to as Grandma or Auntie or Cousin.
