did i ever tell you i got struck by lightning 7 times?

this man and his stories were one of my favorite parts of the film even though i didn't fully understand it.

however, i only counted him telling us about 5 instances with a possible 6th instance SHOWN at the end but I dont remember if he told us about getting struck by standing by a fence.

I know I didn't miss any, I made sure to count the 2nd time I watched. Kind of dissapointing, I wanted to know all of them. Sounds stupid but, any thoughts?

Yea you didn't miss any. He only mentions 5 occasions of him being struck by lightning.

1.Once when I was repairing a leak on the roof.
2.Once I was just crossing the road to get the mail.
3.Once I was in the field just tending to my cows
4.Once when I was sitting in my truck just minding my own business.
5.Once I was walking my dog down the road.

And we just see him being struck by lightning one last time near the fence at the end of the movie.
I'm affraid you'll have to improvise the last remaining one.

I think he got struck by lightening while telling someone he was struck by lightening.

You are not alone in this!! The first thing we said to each other after the end was:
Aren't we missing one/two of the strikes?!
Really a pity made a sour note that they would "forget".

Despite the comedic relief, I think it was important to the story. All along we hear and see his "life jarring" moments, which would cause most people to despair. However, he said that despite his misfortunes, he realized how lucky he was to be alive. The timing of that little revelation helped Benjamin forgive his father and move on with his life.
