I tried to watch this show but it is so dumb.
I like Bleach and One Piece, so people pointed me toward Fullmetal Alchemist. I have tried to watch it but I just can't get into it. Bleach and One Piece are much better.

Referring to FMA as "dumb" means you have no credibility. This is a brilliant show, sorry if your brain is too slow to get it.

To be fair One Piece is better than FMA and FMA:B, but Fullmetal certainly isn't dumb. Also if the person can watch through One Piece then finishing 64 episodes of FMA:B should be no problem.
shareI think people could say that if they start watching FMA brotherhood, which is pretty shonen IMO. I could say that it's even fool and slow. But, if you are refering to the first one, I guess you need to grow up a little more or think more about the story.
shareyou call FMA dumb but bleach and OP are the same thing over and over again lol FMA actually has a good story and character development. I love OP but come on bro lol
shareOne Piece is the number one Anime in character development, storytelling, and world building. The only anime that comes close is Hunter x Hunter but since the writer decided to go on hiatus is unfortunately falls to the number 2 position.
shareI for one absolutely loathe One Piece as i do with most 'Shounen' anime. The setting, the art, the story, it is just awful. It might be fun for a while. But how anyone can look at it for longer then a few minutes at a time is beyond me, even if the story is better then most animes.
So far FMA:B is by far the best anime story yet in my eyes, also because it has a proper beginning and an end. And due to its complexity, humor and multiple layers of symbolism and meaningful morals/life lessons, next to an interesting world and likeable characters.
While One Piece might be similar in that regard, the setting is just... too ridiculous for me. And basically they are doing the same thing over and over again while they actually just need to halt the nonsense and let it end as a good story should. ( But atleast the writer is consistent unlike those of other shounens like Bleach or Naruto. Which have their moments, but still.. ) The varnish and art smeared over the story is just far to childish/teen -fight for your friends- and YOLO for me, like most animes nowadays. It is a bit too simple? Not dark enough? Anyway, this is my personal preference and opinion. To each his/her own.
For me FMA:B ( only Brotherhood ) stands at the top for actually having a very mature and smart story and deep philosopical thoughts and alchemical symbolism. The story is almost genius if you can see the many layers of philosophical symbols and truth behind the obvious. Mainstream animes cannot compare to the depth of a true story, the are entertaining for sure. But sometimes you look for a bit more then that, but maybe that is my age speaking.
To fully enjoy the story that is FMA:B you do need some knowledge/education, wisdom and years of life experience. Which the OP of this thread does not seem to have. ( He either is an obvious troll, who are not known for their intelligence or a supporter of Donald Trump or the likes ).
Different folks, different strokes. I love FMA never watched Bleach or One piece, i'll have to check them out.

Haven't watched those other shows (Bleach or One Piece), but yeah, after watching somewhere between 5 and 10 episodes of FMA, I find the execution to be somewhat juvenile and corny. I've seen a lot worst, but I also have seen better (to my sensibilities at least).
I could probably tough my way through it (it's not horrible), but there are others things I'd rather do with my time.
Attack on Titan and Psycho-Pass were better shows for me. I also found Inuyasha to be marginally better than this show, though at times very similar in feel I'll admit.
Keep in mind that I'm in my early thirties. I'm probably not the target demographic for this show.
I'm 28 and my husband (who has never seen the show before now and loves it) is 32. Age has nothing to do with it. It's lack of intelligence, sorry.

The IQ tests I passed would disagree with you. We'll just have to agree that in your personal definition of intelligence, I'm a moron with the empirical evidence at hand being that I find a show you like childish.
As for age, I'm pretty sure it is a predictor for some shows. Sure, there will always be tail cases and outliers, but if you take X 14 years olds and X 30 years old, I'm pretty sure the proportion of 14 years old who like this show will be much higher.
No one cares about your "I.Q. Tests". You have no taste. Goodbye.

So you have an incredibly high IQ but you can't remember how many episodes you watched? 5-10 episodes of a show with 64 episodes? Yeah, you're the type of person who watches 12 minutes of a two hour movie and decides they don't like it, huh?
shareWell, you place an impossible requirement on intelligence if you require that someone have a perfect memory, especially about things they don't care about, to be considered smart.
I don't recall the exact number of episodes I watched, no. I could spend 5 minutes looking at the episodes on wikipedia to verify it, but frankly, I don't particularly care to. I'd rather spend that time challenging you on your naive definition of intelligence.
Maybe, if ever, supercomputers run the show, something remotely approaching your definition of intelligence will be met... until then, you are bound to be disappointed by your fellow humans I'm afraid.
And yeah, I'll make my mind about movies/shows ~10% on the way in and decide if I want to watch the whole thing. That's a reasonable metric. Maybe I'll miss a show that would have been a hit once in a while, but very rarely.
The vast majority of people that have a finite amounts of time and aren't bored out of their minds with their lives will do the same btw. It's a reasonable strategy to try out a variety of things without wasting too much of your time on lemons.
But I'll make you a deal: If ever I become immortal and get to have all the time in the world, I'll watch the whole thing and come back here to tell you how much I hated it.
For what it's worth, I wanted to like the show. I know a lot of people liked it. Heck, I might have liked it 15 years ago when I was in the target demographic for the show.
