Dub or sub?

Which is better and why?

I would've preferred the dub cast a child or female VA in the role of Edward pre-14, Vic just sounds far too awkwardly strained voicing a child and preteen Ed. Don't get me wrong, he did a rather incredible job in the flashbacks and eps 3-9 area, but for realism purposes this was a blatant miscast. You don't give an adult male the role of a 6-12 year old child, sorry.

Other than that quirk of mine, I did enjoy his performance overall, as with all the other dub cast. Dameon Clarke and Laura Bailey in particular really captured me in their roles, as did the very young-at-the-time Aaron Dismuke in the role of Alphonse. The DragonBall trilogy, as well as other dramatic dubs like Blue Gender and Yuyu Hakusho, they were real acting practices going into the original Fullmetal anime dub and I think that paid off very well. The Japanese version all its own will always be incredible, but personal preference, I'll always go with the dub.

I say dub; I generally prefer to listen to TV shows rather than watching them.

Dub can never match the intensity of original. After watching brotherhood with original voice acting I watched FMA (2003) dubbed version and I was quite disappointed. The dub version was not able to convey the emotions conveyed by voice actors in Japanese throughout the series. After you watch enough animes subbed it is hard to go back to dubbed but it is just my opinion and dub fans will disagree with me.

FMA sub is horrible lol watch the amazing dub

What are you talking about, you delusional person?

Anyone who says dub is delusional. Too much is lost in the translation of the material and the low quality voice actors in America don't do it justice. There are only a handful of exceptions to the dub rule namely Dragonball, DBZ, Yu Yu Hakusho, Speed Racer, Lupin III, Inuyasha, Sailor Moon, Bubblegum Crisis, Fist of the North Star, Pokemon, and Tenchi Muyo.

Handful of exceptions as in good dubs?
If so some of those are a Joke.
The first two attempts of DBZ were a joke, they changed so much. Kai is the best attempt at a DBZ dub

Sailor Moon was heavily edited changed names, genders and made Neptune and Uranus cousins as well as not dubbing the final season. The ViZ Dub is great though

Speed Racer I have not seen in years, but I know they changed the names.

Pokemon is the worst offender by changing the names and making the foods sandwiches and riceballs into dounuts. Ironic that one of the most heavily edited Anine is one of the most popular in North America

FMA is a great dub IMO ol. I really enjoyed Vic and Aaron as Edward and Al the rest of the cast was good. Those that don't watch subs don't have to worry since most dubs these days are good and are taken seriously and not heavily edited and dumbed down.

Some of my own personal favorite Dubs include YU Yu Hakusho,Eureka Seven/AO,Romeo X Juliet,Gungrave,Akame Ga Kill,Death Note, Code Geass,Heaven s lost Property and there are many others I have enjoyed

I think both the English and Japanese Voice Actors deserve credit for their hard work
