Anyone else tired of bulletproof furniture?

I liked the film but the gun fights like in most films were a bit too "blanky". I just wanna let people know that a gun will obliterate a couch, a table, a wall, almost everything inside of a house except a refrigerator. So in case you are shot at, pray and pick your spots wisely. Has anyone here seen a film where shootouts have looked "real"? Like the film "Heat" for example? Man, that was an awesome film.

I catch your drift. I usually complain about such things, too. I am however a little surprised that you would complain about this specific movie, because the shootouts were actually rather well-made in this one.

When Keanu is behind the couch, the couch isn't bullet proof, for example. He just lays low enough so that a bullet only grazes him. The bad guy is obviously a terrible marksman (as most movie bad guys are). And in the first shootout scene you can see the old asian guy shoot through the wall. It's far from perfect, but it's one of the last movies I would've picked to prove your point. ;)

lol Well it was from the top of my head. I guess the worst one would be that stupid Steven Segal and Jarule movie where there in prison together, absolutely horrible. Alot of times I think shoot-em-up's are just a way to brainwash kids into playing with guns (to help tighten gun control laws) but Hollywood is actually very healthy for your psychy and we all know the governemnt would never use media as any kind of political tool.
thanks for the reply

The only movies that are really real in the gun fighting department that i can think of is HEAT and Miami Vice, public enemies- in those movies those scenes sound sooo real.....

What about that Steven Segal and Ja Rule movie, lol?

I don't think so. Bullet's go through things--they don't detinate explosions.

The fridge? I think the guy had a shotgun. The shots disperse and don't do alot of damage unless you're close.
