When DeMille and the other guy takes Tom

After Tom *beep* up DeMille's cheeks, they didn't do anything to make him suffer for what he did? That didn't make any sense. I know they were going to kill him, but I thought they'd at least do something else to torture him.

I think they were going to simply just kill him because they were paid to take him out, if I'm correct. But he had determination and quick thinking, and he took them out first.
