When Ludlow Keanu), Diskant (Evans), Cedric the Entertainer, and "Freemont and COates" were in the living room together...

Why did the phrase "Exigent Circumstances" catch the attention of Detective Diskant (Evans)? He jumped up and said "I know these guys".

How?

It's a phrase only cops use is how I understood it.

Ludlow had used the term earlier when describing his reason for solo entry to save the twin girls at the beginning.
