Biggs and Wander Spoiler!!!

This is what I got at the end and I'm suprised that I did did not see anyone mentioning this. In the end it felt like everything that Ludlow did was useless because he was still stuck in a corrupted system, but this time he went from being the pet of Wander to being the pet of a much more higher official who may be just as corrupted as Wander if not worst. Its like he is trap and any good cop would not want to continue in this type of environment. Just the fact that we have those in the higher up cheating and getting involve of in all sort of stuff prove that the buck does not stop with killing Wander. I saw the ending as sort of a gloomy one. Although Ludlow doesn't go to jail and is now being protected by the higher ups, if he continues to follow his conscious and should one day find out about other corrupt things going on in the higher up that would make Wander's sins seem like childplay's; if Ludlow should follow his conscious like he did with Wander he will not win this time because there will not any higher officials who will have his back like he did with Biggs who represented those in higher power.

Anyone felt like that too?

Yeah now that you mention it, I can see your point. Biggs and the chief had been using Ludlow the whole time to do their dirty work. Just like Wander had.

This is what I got out of the movie as well. It leaves you kind of hopeless--despite all the corrupt cops getting taken out, there are still more, way way up the ladder. None of it has done any good, and Ludlow seems to have no options.

Yep noticed this only in the third viewing.

It was bitter sweet, no matter what Ludlow does he'll always be in the 5hit doing peoples dirty work. But I guess that's where he wants to be, in that position he is as he says 'needed'.

It does seem like it's the end of an era too. Ludlow and his kind are sort of the last gunfighters. Of course that's ridiculous considering it's based in modern times, the recession will have made crime skyrocket, and the drug trade has never been stronger.

He became part of the system the moment he became corrupt. He killed and buried baddies off the grid, for goodness sake. No one with a good conscience can get out of it alive. Look at what happened to Washington. Yeah, it's a depressing film.

reply

yes the higher ups that wanted the dirt/files that washington had on them were still going to act corruptly - its just that now washington or whomever wouldnt have a hold on them!

the corruption and self serving attitudes are self perpetuating!

The ending is totally 100 percent back to business for Keanu. Like if he was Brody and Laurie was Johnny Utah.

He just did another one of his jobs like he ever did hwheh he was pure waging war against the thick evil cast over the city.

But now from a 100 percent transfer that he's been tied down by the wrong side this entire time. And at this pointing goalie at his age.

He gonna drop dead eating a sandwich having carried it all over a second run.
