What's the plot to this movie?

"Der Zauberer" translates into "The Wizard."
It's a bit tricky to understand precisely what this movie is about.
After using Google Translator to read a number of German websites - the synopsis appears to be as follows:
The film follows the life of "Superstar" Daniel Kueblboeck.
(Who, according to imdb - was voted by the viewers of the German TV channel Pro7 as the most annoying personality of 2003 out of 100 people.)
Daniel puts on a concert - most of it shot with handheld camera. And in the audience is an evil character, planning to assassinate Daniel during the show. But, Daniel is protected by the spirit of his deceased grandfather, with a little bit of magic.
There's also some subplot about a young apprentice wanting to become a "Wizard." - Maybe this is somehow related to the way the grandfather protects Daniel?
I don't know - very confusing.

Not exactly out of 100 as far as I know there were more people to vote for but at the end only the 100 with the most votes where presented. He was the clear winner.
Anyway, I have not seen it but from what I read on the web the plot is that Daniel Kübelböck actually is the Wizard and some teenager plan to kill him.
He stops them by the use of positive energy, whatever that means....
