That means it either sucks to high heaven or it is nearly a masterpiece and is misunderstood. Either way, it would probably be hilarious to watch. I plan to watch this. Is it readily available here in America for renting?

I guess most of the votes with 10 are not made coz somebody thinks its a "masterpiece", its more a battle what flic should be number 1 in the bottom-100.
For example close to 60% of the "10 voters" are from the US - and i guess its not wrong that more than 99% of this voters never saw this movie, or only "Daniel Küblböck".
If you really want to know the quality of movie, imagine a movie shown in "sneak preview", and people begin to riot and some to puke. Here some (german) Articles about it:

So, a vote 1.0 of 10 is much too high. Only for this "movie" a negativ scale should be installed.
Most of those people are trying to "even out" the score because they think they have some godly knowledge of what are the best and worst films ever. They feel they need to cancel those out who honestly don't like a film. It's really quite pathetic.
shareManos the hands of fate is a really very bad movie, but Daniel is as bad - so I rated both with a one. The difference is that I still could laugh about Manos. Daniel der Zauber is plainly sick and annoying.
In my opinion both deserve a 1.0 rating.
