A touching and emotive film experience.
Experience the sublime, the beautiful, the exciting....Daniel - Der Zauberer will take you there.
This is at its core a movie about one lonely genius and his voyage of self discovery in a violent oppressive world where he refuses to be contained. Persecution of talent is not a new theme and has indeed been much visited in the genocidal film genre, but the sensitive approach and decorum with which the director handles it in this movie is truely breath taking, that coupled with possibly the best European film acting in 2004 make this a winner.
Who can forget the scene where Daniel coaxes the lonely old giant to speak for the first time, or when he escapes and joy rides in a school bus, how I laughed and cried all at once.
This movie is a beatiful experience just think of each scene as an undiscovered Monet or Van Gough being unfurled lovingly before your eyes, but embossed with a fantastic score and dialogue.
Daniel - Der! I dare you, watch this and tell me you weren't on your knees with wonder..
Peace out.
