I'm wondering about "John Wayne" in real life -- did he get his butt kicked about 10 times when the "experiment" was over? I'd have been on the watch for him.
I'm not saying anything about the movie or whether what this guy did was right/wrong/justified/whatever. I'm just saying if that had happened to me, I'd be on the lookout for "John Wayne" afterward. Curious if he actually did have to watch his back after it was over.
Theres footage of the real 'John Wayne' on youtube saying pretty much the same things Anagarano said at the very end of the film, trying to justify his actions. The group were largely peace-loving hippie-types that just seemed relieved it was over. Retaliation after the fact was never gonna happen. It'd be a different outcome today lol
Hmm, that may have been part of the qualifications the professor was looking for in the interviews -- people who wouldn't seek retribution. I probably would not have been picked to join the experiment, because I would not be willing to just chug along afterward.
I thought it was a shame that they showed "John Wayne" with the guy who was the first to be released. That guy suffered the least from "John Wayne's" sadism. Yeah, Dan may have been permanently messed up, but think of the men who stuck it out and had to poop in a bucket.
"John Wayne's" excuse of conducting his own experiment was hogwash. Nobody signed an agreement to participate in *his* experiment. He wasn't paying anybody. I'd be happier if I could know somebody kicked his butt.
