COMPLETELY INCONGRUENT & NONSENSICAL PIECE OF CRAP!

This film is a completely incongruent and nonsensical piece of crap.

It spends 2 hours representing the head researcher as a crazy maniac who brutally abuses and terrorizes his student research subjects, and who outright refuses to let them leave the experiment; in other words, he forces them truly to be his prisoners.

Then the closing title cards purport to deliver facts that are 100% antithetical to everything the film just said for the 2 hours that immediately preceded them. Those title cards turn this crazy maniac into an ethical, benevolent hero who did sound research which caused the subjects who he brutally terrorized and imprisoned no real harm.

In other words, the closing title cards essentially say: Even though we purported to be showing you a factual film based on real history, the truth is that everything we presented to you in the film that you have just watched was a lie. We didn't mean any of it. Ha ha, we just wasted your time by showing you a film with a fabricated story that has no point whatsoever! So screw you, viewer!

Moreover, before the film gets to the title cards which admit that the whole thing is a meaningless lie, the main film itself also contains many internally incongruent & nonsensical elements, such as alleging that all of the students' relatives would be completely oblivious to the abuse and true imprisonment which they were suffering at the hands of the head researcher tyrant. That on its own would be absurd, but it continuing to be plausible after the cronies let the Emo guy go back into the public at the end of Day 2 is nothing less than ludicrous.

In summary, this film features one of the stupidest screenplays of all-time.

You do realize this is a true story, right? The film shows the effect the experiment had even on the dr. Performing the experiment. Your gripes with the film show that you didn't understand it whatsoever.

Didn't you notice the pensive look he had at the end and the disapproving looks his girlfriend gave him when she realized what he was doing? He had a sudden realization that what he was doing was unethical.

People do change.

And, of course, this was based on a real event. I assume that some of the events were recreations of actual filmed events. But, I will concede that some events were changed to make people look better or worse than they really were. This is Hollywood and they are trying to make a buck by entertaining the audience.
