Was the Prison Experiment an experiment in psychology or sociology?

Officially it's psychology of identity and use (and abuse) of power... But the two fields can be very close when we look at experiments like this

Both. There is a reason they selected their subjects.

Has a lot to do with social psych as well. It can be confused with, sociology but it deals with the individual instead of the society as a whole.
