Fraternity

Seems like fraternity behavior. Only difference, and it's a big one is that participants were told what they were really singing up for or that they wouldn't be let go at request. But to me, this is how agressive men treat each other in groups. Rushing a fraternity is likely for more difficult/humiliating.

Excellent comparison.

In both cases, the pack behavior ( as expressed by John Wayne) is to see how much people will agree with before they protest. It's an instinct that supercedes the purpose of both the experiment and the charter statement of a frat.

A dangerous instinct.

Yeah, it's called USA. Look at the present day and everything else that's taking place. There's something fundamentally wrong with this culture here. Bullying? Well, at least there's some progression towards acknowledging it.

Since we redefined the term "bullying" in the early 10s, identifying it has become remarkably easy... If you're breathing, you're automatically "bullying"

Sorry, i just noticed your reply. I agree, you have a point! But the obvious cases are hard to ignore. Those are really the ones I was referring to. Not "He looked at him with a snarl ... he was definitely bullying him!" .... :-/
