Worst ending possible

1. The extent they let the experiment go was disgusting.

2. None of the guards were beaten senseless, what the hell? The prisoners should of rocked the worst of them.

3. The psychologist who ran the experiment is now a respected person?? He was the most demented of them all, he needed to be in prison after that.

No argument here. Amazing what "institutions of higher learning" can get away with.

I'm no expert, but . . . .

What are you talking about? I wanted him to keep going. The whole damn thing was fascinating as hell. Look at how much was learned in only a matter of 6 days

So you wanted a Hollywood ending, where the inmates revolt and the guards either get sent to prison or get beaten to death by the new kid, who has martial arts skills that make Jean Claude Van Damme look like he's slap-fighting someone?

It's based on a real experiment. I know a lot of films that start with "Based on a True Story" use some creative license to add drama to the films, but some people prefer to actually learn something about history; not watch another episode of "The Fast & the Furious".

You're right, I suppose I'm just pissed at the humans tolerance for taking *beep* Whole bunch of *beep* sheep walking around.

reply

I think that is how the experiment became famous.

Of course 'decent' people with life plans in education/employment etc are less likely to beat guards senseless than convicted felons facing 10 years in jail would be.

Dr. Z should have been disbarred and the school sued for millions.

reply

He should have gone to prison. I can't believe this psychopath has actually made a carrier out of his top scale abuse of innocent people.

reply

You do realize this was a biopic, right? Meaning they showed what did happen, not what should have happened.

You forget that all of these students were just young, middle class white kids who "had never been punched before". Many also still knew in the back of their mind this was an experiment and that they all signed a contract that they could not hit or be hit.

Most probably just figured they could tough out the mental abuse for 2 weeks, then get their money and move on.

The psychologist wasn't demented. If he was he wouldn't of ended the experiment 8 days early and let so many students leave early. Anyone could quit. Not a single student ever asked to quit. They tried making up stories to leave to see a doctor which was denied but not a single student (including in real life) ever actually said they want to quit the experiment.
