I never got the unexplained looks of worry when Anthony's brother Richard was mentioned?

Guilt for Anthony yes, but Richard ''wasn't the same'' as before, so why fear him now, before he's done anything?

Is he meant to have earned a rep in the army meanwhile?

Yeah, he was a soldier and perhaps his guilt over Anthony, twinned with possible Gulf war PTSD, had driven him into psychotic revenge.

Maybe he had a nutcase rep before he left? That and media reports of the hardcase war hero returning home?
