are the churches really abandoned there the wau they showed here?

talkin about the the broken abandoned church at the end where both of them got killed, seems really weird that a property would be abandoned the way it is and no one actually takes it over...

It isn't a church, it's a Castle. Riber Castle. Here's the Wiki page for it.http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Riber_Castle We don't just abandon buildings here in this country, but due to the age of most, and with it being listed (repairing listed buildings cost thousands, as they have to be repaired using the same materials and work skills of the time that they were constructed) they fall into disrepair and become a monument of their own. I like old abandoned buildings myself. They will have caretakers that look after the grounds, tidy up the litter that *beep* heads leave etc...

Riber Castle (It's not really a castle) was a zoo for a time but it closed. Looks like this was filmed just after then.

There are wild wallabies living in derbyshire after some escaped from Riber castle zoo years ago. They just keep breeding.

Yea it was a small castle. Although there are a few churches like that too. Some were bombed in the war and damaged so much that they couldn't be fixed so were left as ruins. They are creepy but interesting and have great history. There are even some still like that in the middle of some very big cities.
