Air Date for Australia
This is showing in Australia on TV on Sunday 9th October 2005.
shareHello,
I'm in Italy and would really love to see "The Poseidon Adventure".
Is there anyone in Australia who can eventually tape it for me?
Would pay for tape or DVD and shipping of course!
Thanks

Watching it now. commercial break. haha
shareDoes anyone know why it aired here first?
shareJust finished watching it.
Not too sure actually.
Did anyone else think it was absolute crap? I could do better special effects and i haven't even graduated high school
shareif your basing the quality of the story on the graphics then your an idiot...its evidently not a hollywood flick aimed at cinemas or anything like that coz its straight to tv. it was very good considering and dont forget that ten years ago those graphics would have had jaws droppin.
shareI totally agree with you Earth Angel, most ppl base the movie on its graphics, but let me tell you.. i have never seen a show ON TV that entertaining in a long time... Lost is getting old, we needed something better.
shareIt was bad fx. When the ship starts to capsize the water in the pool on deck does not move.
sharewell next time you can go out there and volunteer your time to make it better ey? coz i can tell you they wouldnt have had enough money to get the best graphics or the time or personal to make it perfect.
and teh water on the deck did move, just because it didnt pour out while we were watching it, it trickled out as it would in real life. for example, if you tip a glass nearly full but not quite on its side, water wont suddenly fall out because its tipping, it will slowly come out. its hard for me to explain it, but go get a glass of water and slowly tip water out of it and you'll see what i mean
Yes, it's such a shame it wasn't made 10 years ago, it was made less than one year ago.
10 years ago, Jurassic Park had better CGI than this.
and ten years ago jurassic park was made for cinema and big cinematic release
shareThe cgi WAS dodgy, but the worst thing about this was the complete predictability, lousy scripting, the stereotype characters (especially the cowardly crewman)and the odd 1980s look it had about it. It was super obvious who was going to make it and who wasn't. And the sheer stupidity of the people at the end(bad scriptwriters) who are in really dire straits and decide to have an emotional "I'm sorry" "I love you" blah blah scene instead of getting on with saving themselves and their fellow escapees. ABSOLUTELY NO TENSION WHATSOEVER
I was actually talking to the screen telling them SINKING BOAT PEOPLE - GET A MOVE ON.
I saw the original movie at the cinema when it was originally released and have seen it on tv recently. The only reason to do a remake is to do it better or different. This lot failed.
if the movie only went for 90 mins why couldnt it go for at least 2 - 2 and a half hours. crappy telemovie
