Propellers?

I am not an expert… but were the propellers pointing the wrong way on that ship – forward and not backwards? Just watched a few minutes on Sky One.

It could be they were asimuth pods like on the QM2; they can rotate and steer the ship

That's exactly it; they're the azi-pods as used on the QM2.

They are also used on all new large passenger ships and on many ships that have been refurbished.
