It's Pretty Convenient *spoilers.....*

It's pretty convenient that the terrorist dies at the end eh? Not to mention the fact that the US Marshall survives. Score: US 1 Point Terrorists 0 Point

Also it was nice to see the massage therapist that was having the affair with Stevey boy Guttenburg die. She deserved it. Afterall she was having an affair with Steve. Steve didn't deserve to die though. Oh know. He told his wife he loved her and took every opportunity (at the worst times mind you) to tell his kids he was proud of them. He's redeemed himself.... The Girl didn't even apologize to the rest of the family. In the flaming pit for you!

Also nice to see the Marshall find the other survivors so fast and then they all meet up like 5 minutes later. Just like that.

Was it just me or were all the survivors white Americans? Didn't I hear that there was a large number of international crew and guests? Again very convenient that all the survivors were American.....

Also does everything have to revolve around terrorists these days? Who exactly are the terrorists in our world? Do we even know what America's fighting against? I'm sure I'm not the first to say this but there are strong correlations between the world we're living in today and novels like 1984 or Brave New World. If you don't believe me read those books.

Cheese Cheese Cheese Cheese.......

Has American television come to this cornball garbage that people watch. My wife & I don't have cable or even rabbit ears so we haven't watched TV for quite sometime (my sister in law taped this one for us) but everything I watched including the commercials were just sooooo asinine.

The original was one of my favourite movies as a kid but I saw this remake more as an American Propaghanda film which I think is probably what's becoming more and more prevalent these days in the world of Bush. Corret me if I'm wrong.

Just a ridiculous attempt at a remake if you ask me. If you enjoyed it fine, I'm not bashing you just this putrid attempt at filmmaking. Nor am I bashing Americans just the dictatorship they live under.

Love your signature....I just love it...

I was about to post a reply, then realised that you'd said just about everything I would.

For me, the death of the masseuse and the terrorist near the end was horribly contrived and cheesy to the point of being cringe-worthy!

While I wasn't too keen on the idea of having terrorists responsible for the disaster (smells of trying too hard to be "current" to me), I actually think it would have worked ok if they had:

A) Not shown so much of the terrorist plot/counterplot, especially in the beginning (with the silly "Hot Shots!" style action scenes).

B) If they were going to have a surviving terrorist on board, it would have been much better IMO to have the survivors not know they had a terrorist among them (eg. a sort of "Lifepod" scenario), thus building tension.

Oh, and also... am I the only one that thinks the terrorist being killed by Adam Baldwin was actually a LOSS for the "good guys"? I mean, alive he was a valuable prisoner. Dead he was just another "martyr for the cause". Dying was really what he wanted... after all the trouble Rogo goes through to get him out, it's all undone in a few seconds just so he can be a macho action hero.
