Well, at least Adam Baldwin is okay in it

And that's why I spent the $3.99 on the DVD, so not a total loss. He's sporting the "Jayne" look, so worth it for that. His best moment is when he's leaving a message for his wife into the recorder.

I enjoyed some parts, fast forwarded through some parts, and had a blast MST-ing some parts. The script was just...wow, pure *beep* comes to mind.

One situation that had me rolling was the "screeching halt to all dramatic progress" moment of the incredibly cheesy "French" girl's caberet performance.
And poor Adam Baldwin's Mike Rogo is given the unenviable task of filling that plothole by actually having to ask why she speaks with such a heavy French accent, but sings like an American. Too funny, but what a waste of five minutes.

If you're a fan of Adam Baldwin, Rutger Hauer or C. Thomas Howell, it's worth a look. Otherwise, probably best to avoid.

Hi, dh,

Ah. I really wouldn't recommend "SoO" to anyone but a serious Adam or Morena fan...I have it recorded from when it premiered on SciFi, so it was free for me. I think "craptastic" might be the correct appellation. There are moments, like with "Poseidon," where "SoO" just begs to be mocked, and it can be fun in that respect.

But, as a serious Adam fan (I recently recognized his disembodied hands from a random shot in Where the Day Takes You, for God's sake), my opinion is that you may be obligated to do this. AB obsession is not always pretty, or easy.

"Lady Jayne: Killer"! That's still in my queue. Now I'm really looking forward to it. I bought "Monster Makers" and I've been a little afraid to watch it. Have you seen "Evil Eyes" or "The Thirst" yet?

We should create a points system! For example: 0 points for "Serenity," since that's a pleasure, 10 for "Dr. Jekyll and Mr. Hyde" for certain ::cough:: mitigating scenes, 40 for "Double Bang" 'cause that's not too bad, even though Billy Baldwin is in it, 100 for "Poseidon Adventure," 200 for "Evil Eyes," etc.
