What was so special about Wark?

Why was Madeline insisting on the local artist?
What was her gain from him? and please dont be corny saying she was just being "sweet" to the man.
Help me understand the reason why she i sisted on this Wark guy.

Also, help me understand a couple of things:

* Wark made a comment about Jews .. He didnt know Madeline was most probably Jewish.
* southern evangelical christians such as Huckabee, John McCain, billy Graham, etc .. they beleive the world should be worshipping Jews .. So why are some other Southern Christians different in that they dislike Jews.

BTW, just a political question:
No offense, but I always wondered why those evangelicals are so ignorant and naive .. Do they think Jews love them that much in return ?!?

Madeleine is not Jewish. The agent in New York that the artist is thinking of signing with is Jewish, but he does not know that.

This is going into real nutcase territory. Do you mean Sen. John McCain or someone else by that name? Can you supply any sort of documentation for that ridiculous assertion?

The actress is, and it is implied in the movie that her character might be a Jew.

The actress is not Jewish. Where is it implied in the movie that her character might be. You are just making that up.Her character is the daughter of a South African diplomat.In real life, her husband is Jewish, but she is not.

You associated him with evangelical Christianity and that's also nuts.Maybe you are just a troll, but I suspect your problems run deeper than that.

I think I can answer your Christian-Jew question. I have a friend who is an Evangelical Christian, and in his interpretation he is required to believe unequivocally in what the Bible says. Even to the extent that the Bible indicates that the world and universe are only a few thousand years old, so scientific methods that date things a few billion years of necessity have to be incorrect. And of course some of these types are in position to influence what can be taught in school.

Anyway, back to your question the bible refers to the Jews as the chosen people and Israel the chosen land so those fundamental, evangelical Christians are required by their faith to believe and accept that, and whether or not Jews reciprocate makes no difference because their belief is in what the Bible says.

Anyway that is how it has been explained to me.

Thanks Mike .. yes, they do follow the Bible , to the point where all logic is ignored. That is sad.

Meanwhile, Jews can be quite obnoxious in that they poke fun at those same fundamental Christians that adore them.

Jewish people are raised to respect others and their religious beliefs. Jesus Christ was a Jewish man, a rabbi in the Hebrew faith. He is the only Jewish person who should be worshipped by Christians.

Please post proof of your claim that Christians adore Jews. In all my decades on this planet I've found it otherwise.

Lex - my comment was mainly regarding EVANGELICAL Christians. I am talking about that particular group of Christians who blindly support Jews and Israel for everything they do.

Madeline wasn't Jewish as far as I know. The gallery owner who wanted to snatch up Wark's paintings ahead of Madeline was Jewish, but Wark didn't know that.
