Seriously? I enjoyed the first movie, as well as my little brother and my mum. We found it funny and nice and it had a good plot. My mum went to the rental store one day and was ecstatic to see they had the Sandlot 2 and 3. We popped them in, hoping to see an original story with new characters. What did we get? The same story, same character types, the only difference being that there were girls. SERIOUSLY?? We were angry, and my mum went into a fury, smashing the television, our VCR and her children. Just kidding. But we were angry and disappointed.Its absolutely horrible and pointless to remake the same movie TWICE. Sequels usually are supposed to carry on a story with new material and, if necessary, new characters. The only difference was that they used girls and it did nothing but to add a love interest. Its because for some reason children got hornier along the line and want to see this stuff, right? WTF. If the makers of this movie trilogy are somehow reading this, please know that I, and everyone else on the planet earth, hate you. You are a stupid human being and you suck. Go die now. Y U NO WRITE GOOD STUFF?

With the sequel, I think the writers wanted to refresh the story of the original for viewers who haven't seen the first movie in a while to sort of jog their memories on plot points in that movie. The movie worked well in heavily recycling the plot for those who haven't seen the first movie at all to let them know how that movie basically went down.

Which is extremely lazy and hackyened. If they wanted to 'jog the memories' of the first movie, people would just go see it. Making a sequel that's pretty much just like the original in nearly every way is dull and pointless.

It's not a remake. It's a sequel.

Yes a sequel that updates the original by repeating the same basic plot with very little differences.

It's a weird sort of sequel that feels like a remake because it's so...well, pointlessly similar to the first.
