In the book, he was only with Lavendar to make Hermione jealous. In the movie, they make it seem like he did have a genuine interest in her. And there he sees Hermione crying and doesn't bother asking what's wrong?

shareIt was so annoying seeing Harry observe all the drama between Ron and Hermione while not trying to fix it. They were his closest friends and he'd just look at Ron hurting Hermione with nothing to say.
"Dude, Hermione likes you, going out with other girls hurts her feelings". Something like that, i don't know.
