Terrible film

I say this as a Woody Allen fan, but there is a big caveat. I love his early comedy: his '60s and '70s stuff, however can't stand his so-called serious films. I mean Interiors, WTF! And then I saw this one: I don't see how this relates in any way with Woody Allen. It's a totally ridiculous script, and I just hated it, even though in general I'm an Anglophile. As for the whole Mia/Dylan thing I know for a fact that Dylan is lying and don't respect anyone who supports her. But the quality of Woody's later films is a whole other issue.

Damn I love this movie. To each their own.

Agree. This and Blue Jasmine were among my favorites of his. I don't like all his movies, but this was a standout....and no it doesn't seem like a "woody" movie. Maybe OP went into it with the wrong expectations.

I thought it was excellent. Unfortunately very tragic, but excellent.

I thought this was fantastic.

I saw this last week, I didn't think it was terrible but I wasn't super impressed with it. It's basically the same thing as that other Woody Allen movie, Crimes And Misdemeanors.

Highlight of the film has to be the acting, they were all good but if you've seen C&M then you've seen this movie. It's a 6/10 from me...

6/10 is not really a bad score, it's above average. I think it's probably the dialogue that hurt the movie the most, which is usually the opposite for a WA movie. His movies are usually filled with jazzy one liners and other memorable quotes. MP just doesn't have this. Still, if you like the lead actors, it might be worth watching.
