The R1 is now out and easily found. Got mine at Best Buy. Just a heads up though...the back cover says it is anamorphic widescreen but it is actually non-anamorphic letterbox. BOO! Still, a great movie worth owning.

Go to Kim's Mediatronics at 88 Pavonia Ave in Jersey City, NJ. It's right off the Pavonia/Newport stop on the Path train. I work there so I know that we definitely have it to rent. We're out of stock of it right now though. By the way it's only available on Region 3.

York Video on the Upper East Side (York Ave btwn 78th and 79th) has it.
