I'm sure your mother is just thrilled you put that out there for the whole internet to see too.
sharePeople put up far more personal *beep* on the Internet. And who knows? Maybe her mom came to terms of what happened to her and unno, wants to "educate" people about that *beep* It seems alot of people here (who have posted) don't want to believe her dad as a child molester.
shareNeither the book nor the movie give the slightest hint that T-Ray has molested Lily. Since both are very frank about everything, I feel certain we are not supposed to think this took place. It's understandable that if this behavior is in your personal background it would color your view of the world, but molesters and rapists are not lurking around every corner.
shareUh, no. T Ray doesn't rape Lily and neither does the actor who plays T Ray, Paul Bettany. ???????????????????????????
shareI'll assume you mean Dakota Fanning and no, the actor Paul does not have any charges against him in real life. If you were asking about his character, the answer is again no.
shareLol, i didnt mean Paul himself was a rapist. I meant his character.

Hound Dog is the film where she gets raped. Paul Bettany isn't in that film. BTW, I never saw if that film was ever released. Was it? It was quite controversial due to that scene.
shareI think Hounddog eventually hit a few theaters, but it took a very long time, due to the controversial scene. It came out on DVD later, but I don't think it's available anymore, for some reason. It's extremely hard to find, because all of a sudden, they just took it off the shelves. I still don't fully understand why there was such an uproar, especially considering the fact that much worse has been portrayed with child actors in movies, but I won't get into that. People pretty much think what they want to, anyway.
As for T Ray...no, there was never any indication whatsoever that he molested Lily, and in fact, when he caught her laying outside in the middle of the night, he assumed she was with a boy (which she wasn't) and freaked out about her getting pregnant. Characters like him are often viewed and portrayed as rapists in movies like these, where the mother isn't around and the father is abusive in some way. But I don't think he would have ever raped Lily, even if she did stay with him in the end. He was just a very angry and controlling man.

I think the uproar over the rape scene in Hounddog was quite an overreaction. I caught the movie on one of the premium movie channels one night several months ago.
Being inconsistent is better than being consistently bad.
Sorry OP but when you refer to both by name - Bettany and Fanning - it's quite possible that someone would think you meant the people and NOT their characters. Lol.
