The Director's a Lesbian and/or wanted an Oscar award.

She could've just gotten Dakota entering her house with blood, explaning she got raped, etc. Instead, she has her get nude, in front of people, etc. Then again, Dakota was so desperate too that she took the role, thinking the movie would get her an nomination, which didn't, cause the movie sucked.

Dakota nude? Those reports were just rumors!

during THE SCENE you can clearly see Dakota's wearing one of those flesh coloured tube top things.
Although I guess even going that far may have been questionable.

You do have a point though about her not nessecarily having to go this route.

yeah u can clearly see she's wearing something over her chest when she was supposed to be naked. but i still thought was good movie and dakota is always beautiful

(a.) Dakota wasn't nude

(b.) I don't know if the director is a lesbian, but I have no reason to believe she's a pedophile, and do you really think that she was so desperate to see Dakota Fanning naked that she went through the time and expense of producing a movie, and convinced Robin Wright and David Morse and Piper Laurie to play along, just to get a look at Dakota Fanning?

(c.) Why would Dakota Fanning be desperate? She was the most in-demand pre-teen actress in Hollywood? Why on Earth would you think she was desperate?

(d.) Most of the reviews I read on this film were lukewarm to positive. I read very few that said it sucked. I haven't seen it yet.

Mikeclaw - The Original Poster's statement was the most useless statement on this entire board. Don't bother trying to reason with some people.

She is a lesbian.

I'm surprised she bowed to anyone and edited the film.
The way it was edited made it worse and contributed to it's incoherent story.

The controversy would have been truly warranted if it were like "Pretty Baby."
