Did Denton Sr. die?

Mr. Denton was the one who made all of the shots, hiring Bobby and Naughton Jr. Then, his son was the one running the team and calling all the shots, with Sr. never to be seen again. So did Denton Sr. pass away half way through the show?

I've always wondered about that. No explanation. BTW, I believe their name was Dennit. Funny how Ricky still has the company logo on his firesuit.
