Let's stop calling everything with a space scene SF

I'm sorry but lately I'm seeing a lot of films with the sticker SF just because it is (partly) set in space. Not everything set in space is automatically a SF (take Apollo 13 for instance). This is fantasy at best, new age garbage at worst.

Now the way this movie was advertised to me on Netflix is as follows: Dit breinbrekende sciencefictiondrama draait om een verbeten tijdreiziger die op zoek is naar een boom die naar vermeend het geheim van het eeuwige leven bevat. (Or for those of you who don't speak Dutch: This mind-bending science fiction drama revolves around a determined time-traveler who is searching for a tree who supposedly holds the secret of eternal life).

Imagine my disappointment when I actually watched and not only didn't get a movie about time travel but also didn't get a movie about science fiction. All I got was a movie which jumbled some religions together in an attempt at a plot. (I counted Mayan believe, Christianity and Buddhism for those keeping score).

Let's not get too attached too words hoo-ha! Fantasy? Sci-fi? What's the difference and who cares? Take up your complaints with the people who write misleading summaries of films. You could have looked into the movie online before you Netflixed it. Just saying.
