problem with the rollercoaster crash

Ive noticed that when the perverted guy drops his camera on the rollercoaster and it wraps around the track it seems to be the cause of the accident in her vision, but he gets off the rollercoaster to follow those 2 girls resulting in no dropped camera wrapping around the track. If this wasnt the result of the crash then what was the reason they showed it?

The camera wasn't the cause of the accident. The explanation is in the FAQ.

You're welcome.

It's something that fools a lot of viewers actually, so it's not just you.

To this day, this is still the biggest plot holes I think I've seen in movie history. I've always wondered the same thing. While the hydraulics are leaking on the coaster, which would cause the restraints to come loose (in the movie, not real life), Frankie's camera was the main trigger of what caused everything to go wrong. So if he got off... None of it would have happened. And every time I bring this up, people tell me it probably went wrong some other way but they don't show it or go into details. Which could be true. I don't know. It still is the one thing that really bugs me no matter how many times I watch this movie.

In the premonition, the camera was needed to damage the hydraullics because they hadn't weakened enough yet, as the rollercoaster started up straight away. When the actual accident happened, the rollercoaster was delayed, as Wendy was freaking out, and Kevin and Lewis (and Ian, who joined in) were fighting, so by the time the rollercoaster started the hydraullics had leaked enough that it didn't need the camera this time.

Part of me still wonders if the camera in the premonition was meant to be symbolism - a camera helps kill them, in what should have been, and now another camera will help save them?
