I want to say that she was going home for a visit from college and that's when she ran into Kevin and Julie...the rest is history.

The armpit analogy was probably a bit strange. But my point was that it makes no difference where she was going, suffice to say that they coincidentally crossed paths and Death then had another chance to complete his plan.
