Alex departure
Well, at least they didnt kill him off.
shareI am still not happy with his decision to leave the show after 358 episodes!
shareIt happens.
shareWell you know he was doing it for a long time and from his perspective hes tired of it and wants to move on regardless of how you look at it. Hes probably got enough money to live out the rest of his life comfortably even if he fails to get another successful job. Too bad he quit just before lockdown.
shareDid they say why Izzy didn't contact him 5 years ago when the children were born? It seemed like he just randomly found out about the kids because he reached out to Izzy recently on behalf of Meredith. If that's the case then he left his wife for an ex girlfriend who had his children 5 years ago and didn't even bother to let him know!
shareI don't think it matters why Izzie didn't contact him. She wanted to have kids, it was her embryos, him doing what he did back in Season 5 gave Izzie the control/right to use them. And in Season 6, Alex pretty much told her she can go, so what would you do?
shareI didn't watch back then so I don't know the whole story. It just seems odd that he has two 5 year old children that the mother never told him existed, but now that he has found out about the kids he is in love with the mother and he left his wife to be with her. Just seems completely bizarre. I could see if he wanted to move nearby so he could be in his kid's live. But you would think he would be at least a bit resentful of Izzy for not telling him that he is a father and allowing him to be involved in their lives from the beginning.
shareEverybody who is angry about the exit of Alex: Sorry, but that was the ABSOLUTE best ending for that character....and Izzie was the love of his life. And yes, he WOULD absolutely leave Jo for Izzie. You add in kids? Yeah, completely believable.
That's what I thought too.
It's like back in Season 14 (300th ep) when Alex said he didn't need to call Izzie, because if he did, he'd be gone and that's what happened.
