That Izzy/Denny storyline in season 5 was so *beep* awful. Cringeworthy. I stopped watching for a while after that. And I heard that was the storyline Katherine heigl said was "not worthy" of an emmy nom and eventually got booted from the show. Good for her. That storyline SUCKED.

shareI never really understood the hate for Katherine Heigl. Everyone says that she is ungrateful for the show that gave her her start, but they actually blacklisted her from the business just because she disagreed with them publicly? That's pretty crappy. And extremely unprofessional. She should be allowed to have her own opinions, even if they are offensive.
shareShe was blacklisted more so for signing her new contract and then quitting at the last minute to leave them in the lurch because she thought that she could do movies. Then she badmouthed the movies she was in! I don't get why she's mad, she picks her roles. She plays the Type A shrew almost every time. A new Heigl movie is pretty much the same character with a different name.

Haha news for you. That's not the storyline she had a problem with. The season 4 George-Izzie love affair was her problem. She even said it was a "rating ploy". She declined 2008 Emmy nomination. Which includes 2007-2008 television year, which is season 4.
shareIt was rating ploy. It was a horrible storyline. Sometimes, it's great to see a man and a woman have a friendship that doesn't lead to sex or romance. They forced George and Izzie into something that was out of left field for both characters and it was obvious the actor and actress weren't comfortable.
shareYeah, I hated it too. They had an amazing and deep friendship which went on in real life as well. The show did it with also Callie and Mark and I hope that's not what's going to happen to Mer and Alex.
shareCallie and Mark were great friends that had sex from time to time, when they didn't have anyone else. But I loved Callie, Mark, and Arizona as the proud parents of little Sofia. Derek and Mark dead. All the kids growing up without their fathers. Wow. This show can be depressing as hell.
