Maggie, Jo, Stephanie and even beat up Delucca can go. Not fond of Riggs right now. Don't like him with Meredith
shareI find Maggie very annoying, but I'm not sure if its how they write her or how McCreary acts more. Maggie sounds very whiny and childish most of the time. She's very naive and flightly and clingy. She comes across as lacking a certain maturity or something...I can't quite put my finger on it...that makes me unable to believe her as a doctor. I know she's supposed to be a young awkward prodigy, but takes the young, awkwardness that I loved with Lexi, but then magnifies it to a whole new level. I think I would her more if they toned her down a bit and matured her a bit.
As for Jo? Well I'm indifferent about her, cause she's a one-note character and has been since she arrived. She functions as Alex's love interest with a troubled past. That's about it. Anytime they bring her into an interesting story- her past, the abuse with Chest Peckwell, her being great at ortho, her wanting to go to Jordan etc. - they never revisit it after the one or two episodes. She's here to stay, and she's going to be Alex's endgame, but they don't ever really do anything with her that makes me want to get invested in her. Why couldn't they have had her birth parents try to track her down, or have her deal with the ramifications of the Peckwell incident (legal proceedings or something), have her kick ortho ass and start a trial or something, have her go away and become a kick ass trauma surgeon and deal with reentering a normal life...something more than these one off stories that sometimes have a reminder later. I'm really hoping that this story with her abusive ex husband will be fully fleshed out. I'd love to see her go into counselling for it like we saw Mer do earlier in the series, and work through what appears to be a sort of PTSD, maybe she'll confront him in court, or he'll find her (maybe the trial Alex is in will have a lot of publicity and he'll track her down?). I don't want to see Jo get hurt or die, but I want to see her become more developed.
I have a feeling that may be the case if Alex trial gets a lot of publicity and her husband finds this out, but the possibility of it happening may make Jo not want to take the stand or testify on Alex behalf.
Maggie is annoying. While Amelia is not my fav character either, at least she has some fleshed out characteristics. The best description of Maggie is the one Amelia gave about if there was a fire, Maggie would want to hand out marshmallows. Meredith and Amelia have their issues and their fights, but they get over it and acknowledge their "sisterness" when they had the cupboard issue. Maggie expects everyone to get along with everyone all the time and Mer & Amelia were like, oh this, this is nothing. We bitch and move on. Even at the wedding it seemed like Meredith was not all in for Amelia, but in the end she wished her luck. Maggie was going on and on about we all have to get along and love one another because we are sisters and we can never lie to each other. Maggie expects unconditional devotion from Meredith, something only she would give to her kids and probably Alex. Meredith has know Maggie 12 minutes, Alex 12+ years
Sorta like Riggs with Mer. I'd like to see it play out in a season or two. Not rushed. It seems like Shonda likes to have a LEXY, Aprlish kind of character around.(April has more or less leveled out and I want her back with Avery)
Jo is Jo boring Maggie is on my nerves. I do not think that Alex and Mer will end up with each other..Mer still has another happy ending with Riggs (the writers will move slow to simmering) but not like a Derrick love of my life.
