No cop-outs for Alex, please.

He needs to be held responsible. I feel like there should be no going back for him after this.

This is Grey's Anatomy where he's one of the main actors with one of the main TV relationships...

He'll be given a slap on the wrist and Deluca won't press charges. Bet you anything, unless Justin Chambers is leaving the show and it's being kept secret...

Do you believe that Alex thought Jo was drunk and that this guy was on top of her in bed, so he thought he was preventing a rape?

From S12e24, Family Affair, here's the beating scene and Alex heard a few "no's" before he jumped in to save Alex:

No. No. Alex would try and protect me, but he can't. He doesn't even know my real name.

You should tell him. He'll understand.

IDK, he acted the way you'd expect anyone to act to prevent a rape. When I think of all of the circumstances in which "guys" get a pass for their violence, how is this not the first reason to excuse it, always?

"Thinking" involves a lot more work than simply having a thought! Prove assertions with sources.

When Alex walked in, she was laughing and he was smiling. And he WALKED. If he'd heard the "No" from Jo and thought she was being attacked, I'm damn sure he would've ran.

It seems more to me like he justified beating Andrew up after the fact when he realized Jo was drunk and thus, if they were having sex, she was unable to consent. But he didn't know she was drunk beforehand. How would he? He wasn't at the bar with her.

I just re-watched the scene. Even allowing for a moment to pause to get oriented, it does appear that he just erupted violently out of jealousy or possessiveness.

Well, there are no secrets at hospitals or bars, so he could have easily heard that she got drunk. Anyone whom has been in a long-term relationship of any kind with someone who has gotten drunk may easily recognize the change in their laughter or voice. So, there were a few ways in which he may have known she was drunk.

But... because the other guy was backing away and trying to talk, I say Alex was in the wrong to use violence. He snapped. He is in need of help to get control of that volcanic rage.

My point is that men's violence is excused, dismissed and even encouraged, so if anyone should get a chance, it should be Alex.

Yes, she was laughing, but Alex may not have seen it that way, he saw DeLucca on top of Jo and just reacted. I'm not saying he shouldn't get off, but not to the extreme they want to charge him with

reply

Well TV so he'll get off, but it's so unrealistic. At the very LEAST Delucca should have a restraining order against Alex, which would prevent Alex from being near the hospital when Delucca is on shift. It would not be fair to "punish the victim" and make HIM go find another internship. At the very very very least they should make sure they are NEVER on shift at the same time. But if I were Delucca there's no way I'd want to even get a glimpse of Alex until I had time to completely heal emotionally and physically, and it's pretty cruel to keep him around during that time.

After everything, I would stop watching.
(Season 1-6 characters who are still around)

Meredith is such a boring character.

Webber is a shell of his old self.

Bailey is a shell.

Arizona isn't an original and really hasn't had a story that doesn't revolve around Callie

Owen isn't an original but is decent enough.

April is a favorite
same with Jackson

But Alex is the reason I still follow. I HATED him when it started, then began to love his character now he is my favorite and in my opinion the only lead that could really lead the show.
