Leah Murphy (Tessa Ferrer) will be returning this season.
This character wasn't one of my favorites during her run, but I think it will be interesting having her back in Arizona's life. She is undoubtedly her new love interest.

Wishful thinking yes, what would she have to say about Alex at the time except he was a horn dog. He refused to break it off with her to her face, instead just ignored her. But he didn't abuse her or anyone near her and if you want to bring back all of Alex conquests they would share an entire courtroom.
And if they have AZ sink down to getting back with Murphy again, that makes my skin crawl.
Correct me if I'm wrong, because I haven't seen the episode in a while, but wasn't she the one in on Alex's dad surgery with Shane, which resulted in Alex snapping on him and punching him in the face? Maybe they'll bring her in to show his temperament and how this is a repeating behaviour?
shareI thought maybe it would be in regards to the Shane and Alex's dad thing...she saw how Alex lost his temper and was quick to anger, and then he tackled/punched Shane as a result (though I feel like that was the next episode...still, she might have seen it).
shareWell, I don't know the exact time line, but Murphy ran to get Webber and then scrubbed in on the surgery. Shane basically left and since he was exhausted and feeling guilty, he passed out in the rain. Later it was after his father died Shane came back (took some time off) and he went to apologize for what happened to Alex dad, Alex told him to walk away and Shane wouldn't listen and tried to apologize again and that's when Alex lost it. Christina and Meredith pulled Alex off him and Christina took care of his injuries while Meredith tuned to Alex. Later an emergency board meeting was held and Meredith asked if it was about Shane and Alex, Owen said what about Shane, Meredith and Christina said nothing, and that's when Owen said an anonymous source filed a complaint, hence Murphy. So I don't think Murphy knew, only Mer and Christina did.
shareI didn't like her character from the first time she was on and they she becomes obsessive with Alex and then AZ and then files suit against Callie when from my memory Callie knew nothing about AZ and Murphy when the drill thing happened. It was just so weird seeing AZ with Murphy, not even counting the age difference, but the mentality, competency, and AZ giving her hope after that drunken mistake. I pretty much disliked all those interns except the one they killed off, Brooks. Until the last few episodes Shane was just as bad as Murphy. JMO
shareAt the time, we were never supposed to see Murphy and Arizona as a couple because they never even showed them kissing. JCap said she wanted the new love interest to be sexy, easy and fun and I just don't see that with Murphy. Plus, if it is to be a more serious love interest, would she want Murphy around her kid when Sofia is with her?

It's been 3 years in the Grey's universe since Leah worked at GSM. Maybe she's grown and matured into a brilliant research doctor. Her last episode made me like her a bit more so I'm glad she's coming back.

She said the only one I liked from that batch- and we got stuck with Murphy, Jo, Stephanie and the dude who banged Yang. Blah.

That was Shane & I disliked him until the last couple of months there, but hated they killed off Brooks. From what I heard she had another show or movie, but I guess not popular enough to remember. I didn't care for any of the rest either.
shareBrooks was my favorite, but I will say all of those interns grew on me. I am actually curious by Leah's return, she ended up being my second favorite after mousy. She did kick butt in her last episode.
