I don't understand the Maggie hate. Have people actually watched the show?
Maggie shows the excellent progression of a character. She's supposed to be a little annoying and child like because she never had a childhood.
All you have to do is watch the first season she appeared in. She was a loner who kept to herself. She never had Sisters or close friends to confide in and talk to.
So it's no surprise that she's sleeping with DeLuca and she has a crush on Riggs.
I think it's in part to how smart she is; she's five years younger than Mer and she's already at the top of her field. Cristina was allowed to heir her replacement and she wouldn't have left anyone but the best to watch over what she helped build.
I actually wish we could see Cristina and Maggie have a few more scenes.
Yep and she talked about how she was in High School and everyone was older than her and she felt left out. Here's more from Grey's Wiki:
Margaret is very driven and finished both high school and medical school faster than normal. She worked extremely hard and was a focused student.
So again, she should be a little annoying and childlike at times because she's having crushes on guys and hanging out with her Sister for the 1st time. Maggie is very smart but she never had a childhood so crushing on Riggs like she's in High School is to be suspected.
Meredith is the one acting silly. She should have just told Maggie about Riggs right after she lied about Alex. Instead she's acting like a teenager and telling Riggs not to go on dates with Maggie or go on a date with Maggie but act like an *beep* Who does that?...Oh yeah, Meredith. reply share
What really bothers me about Meredith not telling Maggie right away is she knows what it feels like to have a lie knock her life into a tailspin. She had it happen to her when Derek gets her to trust him and fall for him, only to have Addison show up.
I love her too. I think she comes on a bit too strong with her sister thing; acting like she's known Mer for ages so she should be treated like a sister? But I like her personality and her chemistry with everyone on the cast.
I find her incredibly annoying and along with Amelia, not convincing at all as top surgeons in their field. I mean Cristina was meant to be so impressive as a Cardio Surgeon and yet Maggie is even above her....and she just so happens to be Meredith's half sister.
I find her obsession with Meredith to be pathetic. They may be sisters by blood, but they haven't grown up together or had anything to do with eachother in their whole lives.
The writers had to replace Cristina, but I don't think we needed to be force fed with a character like Maggie. Meredith has Alex as her closest friend now, does she really need to have Maggie there? They never bothered to write Lexi and Meredith to have such a close relationship, so I don't know why they have to do it between Maggie and Meredith.
Mer didn't grow up with Cristina but she considers her to be her sister. She didn't grow up with Lexie either but just like with Maggie, she invited her to be her family. Maggie didn't come in demanding that Mer treat her like a sister because of their biological relationship. Just like with Lexie, Derek pushed for it and Mer eventually agreed and it fell into place.
