Hunt/Kepner

I used to absolutely hate Kepner. Then she kinda grew on me. Then her and Jackson got together which I thought was cute for like a minute. The whole wedding running away together thing was cute, but I think it was wasted on Jackson and Kepner and would have been better suited for a better couple. I of course liked it in the moment--- but overall, Jackson and April suck together.

Hunt and Christina were my favorite couple until they started the whole start/stop/start/stop same fight over and over. Which is very realistic but it still just got to be boring and ridiculous. And Christina is my favorite character, so I of course want her to be happy.

But Hunt grew on me too... pretty fast. But now he's one of my favorite characters. Other than Karev being my ultimate McDreamy, Hunt is my new McDreamy. I actually started to like both Karev and Hunt more than Derek after awhile. But but you know what I mean by "McDreamy" not my new Derek, it's just Karev and Hunt are my crushes.

I cannot stand Amelia. Never did, still don't, never will. For her to be with Hunt, one of my favorite guys--- is killing me.

So, here's what I am getting at. Jackson ALSO grew on me. Pretty much, Jackson, Kepner and Hunt were all new characters that HAD to grow on me. And now I do care a lot about all of them. I think I even really like April even though her moments of dramatic, whiney, annoyingness still occurs, I have accepted that about her. She's still nowhere as bad as Amelia for me.

At first, the relationship between Hunt and Kepner did not seem to me like it could or should ever be romantic. Ever. He was her mentor, then good friend. He had a soft spot for her and he stood up for her, got her job back. And was a steady and super amazing friend to her and still is.

But I am rewatching Season 12. And on Episode 15. And it is only completely reiterating the passing thoughts that fly to me while re watching some seasons and the season now. That they might actually make a really really good couple.

Here is why,

Both of them at their core are very kind, compassionate, affectionate, loving, family oriented people. While I think Hunt's love language is touch/intimacy for the most part and Kepner's may be reassurance and words, she is still loving and caring in the way he needs it. And vice versa. Both of them also have the war thing in common. Kepner went off to do the war thing, and it was strange to me at first, and then all of a sudden it made sense and she somehow fit in doing that. Hunt doesn't talk about religion and faith, but he also has never given reason for us to believe he is like Jackson in that he is SO not into it. He seems like someone who could be faith based, or at the very least understanding of it.

Also, Hunt is very very very patient. It is one of his best qualities among the many others. And you do need to be a patient person to be with April Kepner. While Jackson is AMAZING and has been amazing to her--- he has a short fuse. So they fight all the time, and he is a patient guy but he breaks a little too easy. April hits his buttons because at their core they are two very different people. Jackon speaks a lot of love languages but their differences keep them from showing that most of the time.

So it keeps turning out that Hunt and April, who have this fantastic and beautiful friendship foundation already also are very close to being the same at their core, have the same values, both are in Trauma so their brains even work the same not just their hearts.

It is strange to me how they have not tried them together. I don't understand why instead of putting Amelia with Hunt (wtf, seriously, no chemistry, their relationship brings nothing to the show...after Christina and Hunt, watching him with Amelia is like watching water boil only the water never even boils, whereas Hunt and Christina was like a pot of boiling water that got out of control and you need to turn it down.) they never just I dunno, put him with random people until him and Kepner could give it a go. The rebound from Christina was too short anyway.

So I am thinking honestly, and I doubt it will happen but I think it would be really interesting, and sweet to see Owen and April fall in love this season. He has been there for her through EVERYTHING. Just naturally. I don't know if Shonda just loves them as friends, and wants to keep it that way and laid out the plan for the show that "Owen will always be Aprils best friend, mentor and kind of one of her people" Not her "person" but he actually has acted like her person numerous times. I think they would also have great chemistry. When April is in love she IS a passionate person who enjoys sex as much as Owen.

I just think it would be a good idea. I get a warm fuzzy feeling when they are together. When he hugs her, when they are there for one another, when they work together. It just works.

Don't even get me started on my hatred of Alex and Jo. And my theory on Meredith and Alex. That is a complicated one obviously, and some people might either say them being together is "too obvious" or "too ridiculous because they are like brother and sister"

And without going into a thesis about it, I will just say really quickly, if Meredith does get serious with someone again, I don't think it should be Riggs. They have no chemistry and came out of nowhere, and it feels forced. I think her and Alex would be something special. But it would have to happen organically and feel natural and not forced in the show. In real life, they are the same age. 46. I know she looks older than him, and always has but they are very close in age. So for those of you immediately thinking HES LIKE 10 YEARS YOUNGER no.... they are BOTH 46. I think it would super duper interesting to see them be an end game couple as well somehow. I remember reading something years and years ago like season 4 of Greys where Shonda saiad that Alex/Meredith are eachother's counterparts. And that is why Meredith accepted "Evil spawn" as a friend before any of them. Even Izzie. They give a lot of ***** about one another. Yes they are best friends, you could argue like bro and sis but I dont see them as bro and sis. I see them as eachother's people. Soul mates as friends right now. But could totally be more.

As far as Callie and Arizona, I liked them together a lot at first but then Arizona started treating Callie like shi* and it all went to shi* and I would never want them together again, but I have no idea who they should be with at this point. But I hate Callie is gone as she is one of my favorites. So hopefully she's in NY just in love with someone great. Cant remmber if she got with Pennie or what, I forget. But hope shes ok. At this point I dont care who Arizona is with I guess. I am not a big fan of hers anymore unfortunately. I dont DIS like her, but I've gone back and forth and now I just kind of tolerate her or remain neutral.

I think Andrew and Jo would make sense. I am not a fan of Jo, but if they need to put her with someone, her and Andrew would be cute. But I have never taken Jo seriously as an entire character since she started on the show. And this season she is really, really pissing me off even more........and Karev is my ultimate fav on the show so I really hope they break up for good and he doesn't marry her. My dream is for Izzie to come back and Karev and Izzie to be together but the blood seems to still be too bad for Shonda to bring Heigl back unfortunately.

If they do it right--- Maggie and Riggs MIGHT be cute. I'd like to see Riggs with someone. He is hot, and interesting.... Maggie might not be interesting enough for him. If Meredith and him had chemistry and htey didn't just PLOP them together out of nowhere with no cuteness leading up to it, coulda worked but not so much.

Okay, so I didn't read all that but I do agree with a lot of it 

Owen and April could be cute. When he calls her 'Kepner' I too feel a little warm and fuzzy. But I see him more as a big brother than a potential lover. Besides that, he's in too deep with Amelia (who I tolerate) and she's in too deep with Jackson (who I love). If ever there was a time when Huntner could have been together, that time has passed.

We are on the same page when it comes to Jolex, though. I am yet another member of the 'I Hate Jo' club, and I would take Alex with anyone (Maggie, Stephanie, Bailey) over her. Again, strong siblings vibes between him and Meredith, but they have something really special that has changed and grown since Cristina left. I can see that turning romantic towards the end.

Maggie and Riggs have a serious spark, I can't believe so few people are down for them! It's just that Shonda decided to turn her into a clingy idiot, so now dark twisty Meredith is the obvious choice for him, and that's exactly what makes it boring.

"What race are you? If you don't tell me I'll just...assume the worst."

Concise: giving a lot of information clearly and in a few words; brief but comprehensive.

You may actually get some thoughtful responses if you learn it. Sweet Jesus that was painful.

you don't have to read it or try read it, if reading is so hard for you.

you also don't have to be an a-hole about it :) but anyone who complains about longer posts obviously just have ADD or difficulty reading. and if you find it boring again you're not forced to read it or try and then make a rude comment about it.

reply

It's not that reading is "hard,"dear. I'm a writer, so I assure you that's not a problem. Writing a 10-page essay on a television show and expecting anyone to read it is what has me shaking my head.

But you can say whatever you like- I'm just giving you advice in case you ever want anyone to read your posts. I don't get offended by a$$holes on the Internet. And if you're going to continue posting bullshìt like this, I suggest you do the same.

reply

Agree with the other posters, I didn't read everything you wrote, this post was waaaaay to long. Short is better and you don't have to write a 5 page essay to get your point across. I would in no way want to see Owen and April together, are they friends yes, but lovers, no way!!

Owen + April----->can't see it happening especially since he just got married and Jackson and April seem headed toward reconciliation

reply

I don't like the Owen/Amelia thing either, mainly because I can't stand Amelia for so many reasons. Owen, while a nice looking character, seems to lately do nothing and has no interest, other than the Amelia relationship, so he has turned into a boring character for me.

The Jackson/April plotline has become very tedious, especially with April constantly whining and crying and being hysterical. Can't she be happy for a while with the new baby and having survived her (ridiculously laughable) emergency deliver of the baby? I wish Jackson could distance himself from April, yet still have a good relationship with the baby. I have been sick of the hysterical April for a long, long time. Nothing but panic and tears constantly from her.

but overall, Jackson and April suck together

I've mentioned a number of times that I didn't much care for Jackson or April until they got together. I think they have great chemistry, and became my favorite couple until Shondra decided to tragedy them into divorce. I'm hoping their caring for the baby together is heading to reconciliation.

Hunt and April's relationship developed as comrades in arms. I assume he was her mentor and probably commander overseas, and I don't see it going further. Despite signing the divorce papers seemingly served just when she thought they had a chance to reconcile, I can't see April moving on from Jackson. I think she's still aimed at reclaiming her One True Christian Marriage.

I don't hate Hunt and Amelia, but I don't think they have much chemistry. I've been a fan of Kevin McKidd since Rome and Journeyman, and I think Owen's better put to use in a relationship with more passion (even if Cristina is always his OTL in the back of his mind). Despite his patience being very good for Amelia, I don't think he deserves to be with Dark and Twisty v2.0 .

I think Mer and Riggs is cooling off because, 1) too many fans don't want Derek's memory tarnished by Mer falling in love, and 2) Ellen's expressed wish that Mer be a happy solo. I could see them becoming best friends with occasional benefits, like Callie and Mark, at least until Owen's sister inevitably shows up.

Maggie and Riggs would be a disaster. IMO, she's too emotionally stunted by being so career-prodigy focussed. (and I think it would be nice to see at least one black character other than Bailey in a long-term relationship with another black character.)

I don't think there's any plan to push Mer and Alex together, unless it's a distant notion when they settle on a final season. They made the point last season of Mer saying she had no romantic feelings for Alex when she was in therapy after the attack, and laughing at the notion.

This is a message board, not college. Why are you writing such long winded posts?! Nobody wants to read those. Not because reading is "hard" but because nobody comes here to read a dissertation. I agree with the others, if you want responses you need to shorten it up. It's going to get to the point where people will see your screen name, and just avoid your posts all together.
