Non-Main Character Deaths

There have been heartbreaking deaths on this show, a show that doesn't mind killing the characters we love.

George. Mark. Lexie. Derek. Heather (she was only there as an intern for a short time, but I liked her a lot. She was a fun character.)

But there have been non-main character deaths that are soul shattering.

Adele (she wasn't quite main cast, so I include her)

The little girl in season 5, the one that Bailey tried to save, but she finally told the father there was nothing left to do and his daughter needed him to hold her as she passed away. OMG! I cried like an insane person.

Baby Samuel.

The soldier that died from the brain tumor, while his boyfriend was in the lobby and his father couldn't accept that his dying son was gay.

The woman (played by the actress that was Jackie on Roseann) who finally admitted to her daughter she was dying and gave her advice for her future.

I know there are a lot more I'm forgetting. What were the most memorable for you guys?

I don't have any other heart-wrenching stories, but I do recall being rather taken aback when Derek and Meredith were doing their brain tumor experiments and killed one patient after another! I know the people supposedly had a limited time left anyway, but they seemed to be in pretty good shape when they took them in, experimented on them and killed them without batting an eye, it seemed. It was like Derek had them wheeled in, he injected them, they died, and he was yelling, "NEXT!" Sheesh.

Seth Green's death was pretty spectacular, the exploding carotid artery. I also liked the "Pink Mist" episode, with the bomb squad guy exploding.

reply

Kyle Chandler, loooove that guy. I felt like there was real chemistry between him and Meredith too.

The girl who was impaled on the pole played by Monica Keena in "crash into you". The way she said her good byes when she realized she wasn't going to make it

reply

I had almost forgotten about that one. That was so sad. The way she tried to comfort the man she was impaled on the poll with, when he said he would die, but Derek explained there wasn't a chance for her.

For me it was Kyle Chandler's guest appearance in "Pink Mist." On a side note, he is such a good actor and had instant chemistry with the GA characters in that episode; Chandler would have made a perfect Mc...eamy had he been considered earlier.

Does Ellis count? I think that was the most touching episode ever.

It was great to finally see her be kind to Meredith. I just wish she could have done it while alive.

I loved that scene. Especially when Ellis tells Meredith to run. It still brings tears to my eyes.

I think someone already mentioned it but that women and guy who were impaled together. When she realised she would die and was saying her goodbyes....I was a mess. I cried so freaking hard, full on sobbed my heart out.

It's immortality, my darlings

I cried so hard at that story. It was one of the most emotional deaths. And when Derek and Meredith were operating on people with a certain type of brain tumors, there was the young man whose father walked in on him kissing his boyfriend, who was in the army. That one had me sobbing, when the boyfriend stood up to the father, only to realize the love of his life was dead.

Actually, I was so happy when she died. She was one of the wort characters ever and I just couldn't wait to see her go (same with Charles).

sorry ;)
