They're trying soooo hard to replace McDreamy with McDroopy ... same black hair, same twinkly eyes and boyish grin.

But they've tried *too* hard and erased any charm Riggs might have had.

god, i don't like him, I think it's the actor, because he doesn't do a good job. he has zero charisma.

Same here. I have tried to like him. He is probably the nicest guy in the world but for some reason I can't stand him, the actor. Sorry, Actor who plays Riggs!

He doesn't bother me. He isn't my favorite or anything but Im continually surprised by all the dislike he gets from people on here. I don't get it.

He's not Derek he's Mark it's very apparent. He pushes Mer the same way Mark pushed Addison back in seasons 2 and 3.

Another reason why I wish they weren't pushing Mer/Riggs. People are always going to compare him unfavorably to Derek. It's not fair to the actor, who seems very charming and nice to me. He's not McDreamy, no, but he shouldn't have to be.

"What race are you? If you don't tell me I'll just...assume the worst."

Out of all the storylines rn in GA, I like the one between Riggs and Mer the best. It's funny. Take out the Maggie-bit and it's the only thing that doesn't get dramatically enhanced in this entire show.

agree with above poster. He should not be compared to Derrick. Riggs has his own thing going.. You can't just replace your love with another one just like the first.
I like the"Mer-Riggs ship.

Exactly, I don't expect anyone to take Derek's place. That doesn't mean I would hate seeing Mer have a new love. It doesn't erase her previous love, it's not wrong to move on after death. Cherish the old memories while making new ones.

I actually like that he isn't like Derek. I hated Derek towards the end, he was such a smug ass to Mer so many times. He always had an air or cockiness about him that was not endearing, it was just arrogant. Plus I never found Patrick Dempsey to be attractive. In the least. I always thought Mark was way better looking.

That said Riggs is SO boring. They need to do something to spice up his character because at the rate he's going, McDroopy fits him to a T!!

Ye Derek was written kinda badly in the end and I'm wondering how much of it is wrath and how much is genuine character. Anyway, I agree they should do more with Riggs. I think he could be interesting if he was seen as his own person instead of as either former best friend of Owen and/or love interest. I wouldn't mind him and Mer getting together, but I would love it if he could say to Mer something like 'I have been waiting and now I am done have a nice life'
I love his nickname McDroopy, lets keep it going.

I like Riggs and I like his and Meredith's playful little whatever. If the end game is them, it's nice to have it not be a big, chronically dramatic thing. Maybe she'll eventually have an "I've grown accustomed to his face" epiphany.
